Shirley Palmer-Witt has been an active member of the Clearwater community for twenty-one years and chose Clearwater for the wonderful schools. She has a presence in Clearwater as a local business woman for the past fourteen years and brings an exciting, professional perspective to the council.
Shirley is married to Ron Witt, Retired Air Force and local businessman; together, they have put five children through Clearwater School District. Shirley has been a volunteer on the Clearwater After Prom Committee, Fall Festival Committee, Clearwater Growth Planning Committee, Reality U at Clearwater High, and is an active member at Grace Point Church.
Shirley is eager to be a part of creating more community engagement through broadening the committee demographics and encouraging an active voice in local politics. “I would love to bring younger generations into our community decision making. If we can create a well-rounded voice then we can produce healthy growth with diverse ideas for our city.” One topic that Shirley hopes to address during her time with the council is creating a clear, but collaborative divide between city and school property and responsibilities. She is ready to be a voice for the citizens and wants to approach each topic with a clear, fresh perspective.
